Coffee Chat 0.0: S.K. is GONE!

Today is Thursday.

Thursday is Coffee Chat day.

BUT . . .

My Coffee Chat buddy is not in my kitchen.

No one has snuck in my window.

No one has picked up a guest . . .

. . . or two . . .

No one has shown up stinking drunk at my back door,

or even called me to cancel our weekly date.

Why, you ask?

Somebody whose name I won't mention decided to go on a vacation with her husband. To Jamaica. Since I'm typing this post, I think you can all guess I'm not typing it from a beach chair. So I may as well just say it.

S.K. has deserted me.

Thankfully, this is only temporary, and we'll be back next week with brand-new coffee and a brand-new bunch of rambling conversation—unlike those reruns linked above.

For this week, though? This is S.K.'s happy place:

And this . . . sigh . . . is me:

No worries. I need the recovery time from A to Z anyway.

Rest up, everyone, and enjoy some down time! See you next week!

  1. Well I'm sitting here drinking coffee - does that help?

    1. Thank you, Jo! Yes, it does help. Coffee should always be enjoyed with a buddy if possible. :)

  2. On my second cup. Try as I MAY...I could not get my bubbles to smile or frown. LOL!!!

    1. They frown during the first cup, but gradually begin to smile as each extra cup is poured. Amazingly, so do I!

  3. So, you'll "be back next week with brand-new coffee," eh? Lord, I hope so! Ew.

By the way, your fears were groundless. I actually put up a new post, such as it is.

    1. Yes, I thought saving the coffee until she got back might be a not-so-good idea. Even I have my coffee limits.

I'll have to check out your new post! You're just going to spoil us, but I'll deal with it.

  4. I am on my second cup of coffee. I only make three... but I am not sure that will be enough today...

    1. There are days when a second pot is necessary. Drink it if you need it!

    1. I hate drinking alone. Especially by myself. George Thorogood had it all wrong.

  6. Well you coulda invited me. :) Though I am no S.K. Great coffee picture, I can't even get bubbles.

    1. I could have invited you, but I felt it was a better use of my skills to whine about it. :)

    2. I'll bring cheese to go with the whine. ;)

      I can't wait, either.

  8. I'll share a virtual cuppa with you.
You got cappuccino... you know the caramel tasting one? Only joking. Don't wanna push my luck. You might just ban me from your coffee sessions.
I'll settle for a normal filter coffee.
Even instant coffee will be appreciated. LOL

    1. Thanks, Michelle! I'm good with regular coffee 99% of the time. In fact, I've seriously thought about just chewing on the roasted beans on my way out the door on certain mornings. I've held back, but just barely.

  9. She is so selfish. How can she go on a vacation and not take us? Why would anyone want to vacation with a husband? Ewwwwww.

    Love,
    Janie

    1. I would say she's selfish, but I suspect it's really her husband who is the selfish one. She was probably intimidated into saying yes to the whole anniversary trip.

  10. SK is having a great 10th year anniversary so far . . . my coffee was included *in* my morning drink. Yes, yes it was. :P

  11. Well I'm on hiatus but it's not in Jamaica! I'm drinking alone too but it's not coffee. I'd offer to chat with you in SK's place but I'm afraid it would be more like a coffee slur. Could be fun though...

Virtual cheers to SK (clink) ... Happy Anniversary!

  14. Hi human, Lynda,

Would of got here earlier. Then I had this incredible urge to have yet another doggy nap. Anyway, here I am! Yay and arf!

A bit of quiet time with a cup of coffee is probably a good thing. My human, fictional or otherwise, drinks a bit too much coffee. Seeing his eyebrows stuck to the top of his forehead looks well funny :)

Have a rest and enjoy your weekend, my dear human friend.

    Pawsitive wishes,

Penny the friendly host of The Alphabark Challenge, 2014! :)

    1. Oh, Penny, I'm all about the naps. Take them whenever you can get them!

I do like my coffee, and I won't even pretend not to. Gary's eyebrows probably look similar to my own after a few cups.

I hope your weekend is relaxing and as pleasant as possible! Take Gary outside for a walk or two. :)

    1. Kimberly, it's funny that you commented now, because I just finished reading your post for today and am happy you had the proper "supplies" in your freezer to deal with a squirrel-tilling mishap. I'm also glad I'm out of coffee at the moment because I would have ruined my keyboard completely, I was laughing so hard. Your blog was one of my favorite discoveries during the A to Z.

    1. Somehow, she's having fun without me. Perhaps it's the setting. And the company.

Oh, but I'll still welcome her back with open arms and a fresh mug o' joe.

  17. I'm sorry, Lynda. I might suggest a mocha-lotsa-choco-frappa-whatever, as a lil pick-me-up. Smiles.
